Young Scientists Shine During British Science Week

Students and staff have been celebrating British Science Week with a range of exciting one-off Science lessons designed to explore fascinating topics and highlight potential careers in Science.

Throughout the week, each year group took part in themed sessions, linking classroom learning to real-world scientific applications.

Year 7 students participated in The Human Guinea Pig, looking at diagnostic technology used in medicine and the job roles that use them.

Year 8 students enjoyed The Senses Show, investigating how the human body works through experiments that prove body mechanisms.

For Years 9 and 10, the focus was on future pathways. Students took part in individual Biology, Chemistry and Physics career lessons, linking skills and the curriculum to potential future careers.

Members of the Science department have also been visiting our feeder primary schools to deliver assemblies and interactive workshops, sparking curiosity and encouraging younger students to ask questions about the world around them.

British Science Week has been a fantastic opportunity for students to see how science extends beyond the classroom and plays a vital role in many exciting careers and everyday life.
