See details of some of our previous school trips below:
Nine Sixth Form students and two teachers headed for Elmina, a small fishing village in Ghana during Summer 2017. The trip was two years in the making and blossomed from a five-year partnership with Partner Schools Worldwide. The group visited Elmina Methodist School to help build a canteen and make “buddies” with the students. South Craven already has a connection with the school, as they helped build a library a few years prior.
The trip also involved a treetop walk in the rainforest, sampling the local cuisine and visiting Elmina Castle to find out about the historic slave trade which took place centuries ago. South Craven School is extremely grateful to local businesses and clubs who helped raise money for the trip, from hosting events to donating raffle prizes.
New York 2018
South Craven ran a trip to New York in February 2018 for Sixth Form students. We flew from Manchester Airport and stayed for seven days and six nights in a central NYC hotel. Students experienced a new lifestyle, saw world famous landmarks and developed their independence and CV.
