The Ofsted Inspection Team has judged South Craven as an outstanding school.
The judgements on each of the four sections – Achievement of Pupils; Quality of Teaching; Behaviour and Safety of Pupils.
Leadership and Management are also outstanding. These judgements have been made against the new Inspection Framework, introduced in September 2012, which is more demanding. Therefore, this represents an even greater achievement for the school.
Congratulations, in the first instance, go to the students. It is their achievements, learning and behaviour that the Inspection Team has looked at. The team met with students from all year groups and one of the highlights for us was hearing the inspectors report back on how positive the students are about their school. Two phrases used by students are included in the report – “the whole school is united” and “we recognise individual successes”. It made us very proud to hear these comments.
Parental support for your children’s education is essential and was clearly reflected in the questionnaires returned to the Inspection Team.
The report also highlights the work of our excellent Governing Body.
