Modern Foreign Languages

Being able to communicate in another language opens doors in students' future lives and careers, providing personal enrichment and making pupils more competitive in the jobs market in Europe and the rest of the world.

We aim to provide our students with enjoyable, relevant and enriching lessons, encouraging them to develop the necessary skills needed to become life-long learners of languages.

Trip to Berlin, Germany

The History and German visit to Berlin aims to provide cultural enrichment and an all-round experience to German History and Language in order for students to develop a better understanding of German life, both past and present. Day trips include a visit to the Holocaust memorial, Sachsenhausen, the Reichstag and a trip to Berlin Zoo!

UK - German Connection (British Council Scholarships)

We support annual applications to the UK-German connection youth ambassador schemes. Students from Year 10 and Year 12 have the opportunity to stay with a host family and visit a German school for two weeks during the summer holidays.

The project also encourages participants to deliver a presentation to a local primary school about their experience, thus developing important communication and presentation skills, whilst also inspiring younger students to pursue their language learning.
