What are you doing now?
I am a Health and Safety Technician currently doing my Masters in Health and Safety through an apprenticeship.
I chose to go through the apprenticeship route as I am dyslexic, and sometimes find the world of formal education and classrooms quite difficult. This route has allowed me to grow within a company, learn on the job and build working relationships whilst also building my knowledge within health and safety.
What advice would you give your 17-year-old self?
Focus on what matters to yourself, where you want to be and what your dreams are. With full focus you can get to where you want to be, even if it seems unachievable. Don’t let people’s opinions get to you and understand that self-belief is the best kind of belief there is.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of my work and the way I have seen myself improve and grow into a more confident and understanding person.
Within the last few years I’ve seen myself change and become a lot more mature and braver when facing the future. In addition, I’ve just bought my first home at 21!
