Inspiring STEM and AI Workshops for Computer Science Students

Over 50 Year 8 students who have chosen to study Computer Science in Year 9 recently took part in a series of engaging and inspiring workshops delivered by Dr Claire Garside from Eko STEM.

The sessions introduced students to the wide range of opportunities available within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers, encouraging them to think about future pathways and aspirations. Through a variety of interactive problem-solving activities, students developed key skills while exploring how STEM subjects can lead to exciting and rewarding careers.

A particular highlight of the workshops was the opportunity to learn about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and consider the ways in which emerging technologies may shape the world around us. Students explored both the possibilities and challenges presented by AI, sparking thoughtful discussion and curiosity about the future.

The workshops were extremely well received, providing valuable insight into the rapidly evolving world of technology and innovation.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Claire Garside for delivering such engaging sessions and to Eko Global Foundation for providing this fantastic opportunity for our students.
