Huge Exam Success for Sixth Form Students in 2022

Congratulations to all the students in Year 13 who have achieved a brilliant set of results in A-Level and Level 3 vocational courses this year.

We are delighted with the number of students who achieved the grades they needed to move onto the next stage of their lives, especially considering the huge amount of disruption they have faced in the last two years.

Headteacher, Martyn Hill, said, “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of Year 13, especially after such a difficult and challenging two years in Sixth Form. I want to congratulate every single student and extend my congratulations and thanks to parents and families who provided strong support during such testing times. I also want to thank the staff at South Craven, who have worked so hard to ensure the students achieved their potential and make these results possible.”

Head of Sixth Form Caroline Taylor said, “I am so proud of this group of young people and what they have achieved. I have enjoyed every minute of my time working with them all, and I have been amazed by the strength of character and resilience they have shown, I wish them all the best of luck in the future and hope that they keep in touch with us.”

Year 13 students from the school will be going off to study at a wide range of universities including St Catherine’s College Cambridge (Physics), the University of Sheffield (Civil and Structural Engineering), University of Nottingham (Veterinary Medicine) and Newcastle University (Medicine and Surgery). Other popular destinations include Leeds Beckett University, University of Bradford and Northumbria University.

Several students will be taking up apprenticeship and degree apprenticeship opportunities in a variety of settings including Santander Bank, Ultimate Furniture, Gordons LLP Law Firm and Produmax Engineering.
