We’ve made some changes to Key Stage 3 Homework for September 2025 onwards.
Students will be set homework designed to develop the independent learning and revision skills that they will need as they move through school towards Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form.
The types of homework are underpinned by educational and scientific research which we’ve grouped into four ‘Learn to Learn’ strategies:
- Grasp It - where students are trying to memorise knowledge, or engage with new learning
- Quiz It - where students self-test how much they have learned
- Map It - where students present their learning in visual or graphical ways
- Stick It - where students apply or consolidate their learning
As students move through units of work towards assessments they may also have homework which is to revise:
As well as resources used in class and made available through Google Classrooms, key summaries of the learning for topics can be found on our Learn to Learn Google Site in the Key Stage 3 area in the form of knowledge organisers. You will also find more information about Learn to Learn strategies.
