Geography

This course will help you to develop Geography expertise by studying a wide variety of case studies to enhance your understanding.

You will learn about people and their societies, economies, cultures and the environment. You will learn and develop a wide range of geographical skills, including fieldwork.

Entry Requirements

Grade 5 in GCSE Geography
Grade 5 in GCSE English Language

Curriculum

The topics you study are likely to be:

Physical Geography and Landscapes 

  • Coasts
  • Hazards
  • Water and carbon cycle

Human Geography

  • Global systems and global governance
  • Contemporary urban environments
  • Changing places

Assessment

You will take two final examinations, each worth 40% of your grade. These are 2 hours, 30 minutes each.

You will also complete a written fieldwork investigation (non-examined assessment), worth 20%.
