Summer 2024 Examinations

Individual exam timetables will be emailed to students.

We will publish our general Summer 2024  examinations timetable in due course.

Please note, there are three contingency dates where students must be available to come into school.

The designation of ‘contingency days’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations.

It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.

Access to Scripts Request Form

Please find the link below for the Google Form to request access to scripts.

If a student wants to complete the online form, they can only use their school account to request this service.

Post-Results Services

After you receive your results, there are a range of services you can access if you think there is a problem with your grade, including:

  • Access to your exam scripts
  • Requesting a review of marking
  • Requesting a clerical check, for example that marks have been added correctly.

All requests and questions about post-results services should be emailed to exams@southcraven.org.

Please see emails to parents and students regarding restrictions to email access this year, advice about logging in and what to do if you are abroad for results day.

We look forward to seeing you on results day!

Summer 2023 Exam Certificates Collection

Summer 2023 exam certificates are available to collect from Main Reception from Monday 4th December 2023 until Friday 29th November 2024, during term time between 8am and 4pm.

Should students be unable to collect your certificates in person, they can nominate someone to collect them on their behalf by completing a copy of the "Candidate Permission Form For Certificate Collection." This form must be brought into school when certificates are collected by anyone other than the person name on the certificates. The person collecting certificates on behalf of someone must also bring photo ID.

Legally we only have to hold onto certificates for one year, so collecting them as soon as possible is recommended.

‘Post-Results’ Services

If you believe there has been an error in producing one or more of your exam results, you should use our ‘post-results’ service.  We work with the awarding bodies to allow:

  • Access to your marked scripts, to help you decide if you think an error has been made
  • Clerical check, to ensure all your marks have been added correctly
  • Review of marking, where a senior examiner will judge whether the original marker awarded marks appropriately and in line with the mark scheme
  • Appeals, if you believe any of the post-results review processes were not carried out properly by the board.
  • Resits.  It is possible to resit GCSE Maths and/or English in November if you do not get a grade 4 or higher.  You should ask to be entered for any resit in the institution you are studying in in September.  If you go to college, you should be entered by the college and not South Craven.

Most post-results services have a fee. Details can be found in your results pack and by clicking this link.

If you wish to access any post-results services or have any questions about them, please speak to the exams team on results day or email exams@southcraven.org.

Certificates

You will get a ‘Statement of Results’ on the results day, which can use as proof of results to get on courses at other institutions.

Official certificates are produced later in the year, provisionally available to collect from Monday 4th December, when all results and any appeals are finalised.

Lost Exam Certificates

We do not have duplicates exam certificates for students who have left over one year ago.

The only organisations that can replace them are the exam boards that awarded them.

Most exam boards will charge you for their replacement.

Plagiarism Monitoring

We have recently started using Turnitin to monitor coursework submissions for plagiarism – this is great preparation for students going onto University where monitoring takes place as a matter of course.

The Turnitin software checks an international database of assessments to identify any student’s assessments which have been copied without recognition of the source.  It also now checks for authenticity and identifies writing that may have been produced using AI.
