I work full-time for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service as an Emergency Care Assistant in Hull and bought my first house this year!
Look at what you truly want and enjoy.
I’d planned a career in Medicine without truly knowing the full implications as to what I was signing up to. After a year at university I realised that I enjoyed working prehospitally and changed my path. If I’d have looked at what I wanted then I may have changed my decisions.
I’d also not put as much pressure on myself and realise that things happen for a reason. I love my job, I have a beautiful house, a loving partner and supportive friends.
I remember being mortified getting my UCAS rejections at 17, but I’d love to tell myself that those rejections didn’t mean my aspirations were over, I just had to make my own path.
I’m proud of my job and my house! I’m now aspiring to become a paramedic and work in either research or an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the local A&E.
